The man who invented the Internet has now invented the launch date of the iPhone 5.
Former vice president and current Apple board member Al Gore reportedly confirmed the release date of the iPhone 5 at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit Wednesday.
During his talk, Gore specifically said he was told "not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month."
The report may not be more amusing than surprising. AllThingsD reported earlier in the day that new Apple CEO Tim Cook will unveil the new iPhone on Oct. 4.
Perhaps more interesting to Apple fans is the report that not only did Gore confirm the newest Apple smartphone will be out next month, he reportedly used the word "phones" hinting that multiple smartphones are coming from the Cupertino-based technology company.
