First street artists "localized" paintings left in the City by prominent British artist Banksy, now absentee building owners are painting over what some consider works of art.
A stencil of a young boy holding a paint bucket with a tag "This'll Look Nice When Its Framed" on Valencia Street in San Francisco's Mission district was painted over, according to our friends at Mission Mission.
This after other works in the City rumored to be Banksy were protected by signs written in Cantonese asking that they not be removed.
The Valencia work was reportedly removed after the City wrote a note to the building owner who lives in Texas informing him about the work.
Apparently not knowing the significance of the piece, the building owner had it whitewashed from history. But not before dozens of photographs were taken of it.
