Barnes and Noble Groping Suspect Behind Bars

A 32-year-old Novato man was arrested Wednesday evening in  Fairfield for the alleged sexual assault of a 5-year-old girl at a Barnes's & Noble bookstore in Corte Madera on Dec. 9, according to Twin Cities police.

Jaime Eugene Jacinto was spotted by Fairfield police at about 5  p.m. Wednesday and was arrested without incident, police said. Jacinto was  booked into the Marin County Jail and faces charges of committing lewd and  lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age.

The alleged sexual assault took place at the bookstore at 313  Corte Madera Ave., according to police, who said the victim was near some  book displays when a man approached her and made her touch his genital area.

The man quickly left the store, and although the girl quickly told  her mother, the suspect could not be found.

Twin Cities police received information on Dec. 23 about a  possible sighting of the suspect and were able to contact him and identify  him as Jacinto.

After further investigation, a search warrant was obtained for  Jacinto's home, and police found enough evidence inside the home to obtain an  arrest warrant for him as well.

Jacinto is being held on $500,000 bail, police said.
