Bay Area Fires: Joslin Fire Breaks Out in Vacaville

Firefighters on Friday continued to increase containment on multiple brush fires across the Bay Area. Bob Redell reports.

Joslin Fire in Vacaville

A vegetation fire in unincorporated Solano County north of Vacaville Sunday is 90 percent contained at 8.2 acres, Cal Fire officials said.

The fire was reported at 10 a.m. along Joslin Lane, according to a tweet by Vacaville fire officials. Cal Fire officials said earlier the fire burned three acres.

Cal Fire and other agencies, such as the Vacaville Fire Protection District, extinguished the blaze.

Fire in Fairfield closes Highway 12

A grass fire temporarily shut down Highway 12 in Fairfield on Tuesday, Aug. 2, officials said.

The highway was closed between Beck Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue. The blaze was contained shortly after 2 p.m.

Firefighters battle flames in Los Altos Hills

Santa Clara County fire crews battled a 2-alarm brush fire on Josefa Lane in Los Altos Hills.

Approximately two acres of brush have been burned by the fire before it was contained.

Firefighters stop forward progress of brush fire near Livermore

Crews stopped forward progress on a brush fire that burned near Livermore Friday, officials said.

According to Cal Fire, the Pass Fire burned about 20-25 acres. They said ground resources will remain at scene until the fire is fully contained.
