Bay Area weather forecast: Rain chances returning

NBC Universal, Inc.

Trending dry for the first half of the day, isolated showers make the return tonight. Another atmospheric river kicks off the holiday travel. Cinthia Pimentel has the Microclimate Forecast.

Daytime highs will be mostly in the low 60s on the coast, mid 50s to low 60s around the bay, and in the low 60s inland. Overnight lows will be mostly in the mid 40s to low 50s.

Scattered showers are possible Sunday afternoon and evening, with the North Bay likely getting the most rain.

On Monday, the NWS expects rain will become more widespread as a disturbance moves in early in the morning. The heaviest rainfall is expected farther south from the Santa Cruz mountains into the Santa Lucias.
