Body of Missing SJ Woman Found

Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found near San Jose as a homicide.

Valerie Calderon Casillas, 28, was reported missing on Sunday.

Police said her body was found midday Wednesday by a road worker in the area of Sierra Road and Skyview Drive in unincorporated Santa Clara County.

Detectives believe Casillas was the victim of a homicide, but have not yet determined the circumstances and motive for her death. She was last seen entering either a silver Pontiac Grand Prix or a blue Chevrolet Tahoe SUV around 3 a.m. Sunday near Waverly Avenue and Orlando Drive.

She was reported missing later that day at about 7:15 p.m., police said. Her disappearance was investigated as suspicious. Casillas' murder marks San Jose's 32nd homicide of the year.
