Body Pulled From Water in Golden Gate Park

A body was found floating in a Golden Gate Park pond in San Francisco, San Francisco police confirmed Wednesday morning.

Officer Grace Gatpandan said police received a call at 7:57 a.m. reporting a body in the water near 21st Avenue and Lincoln Way. A pedestrian had spotted the body.

The San Francisco Medical Examiner was called to the scene. Police had no further details and are investigating.

On Oct. 3, the body of Audrey Carey, a 23-year-old Canadian backpacker was found in the park. She had been camping in the park during the three-day Hardly Strictly Bluegrass music festival when she was killed. Three young transients are charged with her slaying and killing another man. The three robbed and killed Steve Carter, a 67-year-old yoga tantra instructor while he walked his dog along a popular hiking trail in Marin County, investigators say.
