Firefighters Contain 3-Alarm Brush Fire in Dublin

A fire burned dangerously close to homes in Dublin and Livermore Friday. Residents were told to be ready to evacuate before firefighters got the blaze under control. Cheryl Hurd reports.

Firefighters have contained a three-alarm brush fire near homes in Dublin.

The blaze burned at least 248 acres Friday afternoon in the area of 3800 Camino Loop, near Interstate 580.

The Alameda County Office of Emergency Services issued the following statement while firefighters battled the fire:

"The Alameda County Fire Department reports a fast moving wildfire in the East Dublin Hills. Be prepared to evacuate. If you see smoke or feel in danger evacuate now. Evacuation routes are south on Collier Canyon or East on Highland."

Fire crews will remain on the scene putting out hot spots.
