California Schools May Overhaul Standardized Tests

California may soon move toward a new standardized testing system for its public education system. George Kiriyama reports.

No scores could mean no more federal dollars for California.

That's the threat from the nation's top education official after state lawmakers gave the go-ahead Wednesday to suspend all the STAR tests during a one-year "test drive" of a new assessment known as the Measurement of Academic Performance and Progress, or MAPP.
