California Highway Patrol Officers are looking for the driver of a white pickup who seemed to have been engaged in a gun battle late Wednesday on Interstate 880 near San Leandro.
Sgt. Scott Siria told NBC Bay Area that the driver of the white pickup is nowhere to be found, and a woman in a black Honda Accord was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her leg. A bullet hole can be seen in the Honda's right front car door.
The shooting near the Marina Boulevard exit was reported just before 10 p.m., but Siria said he is not sure that's when the shooting between the two vehicles actually occurred. It seems as though the people in the Honda reported the shooting when they were in Richmond, about a 20-minute drive from San Leandro.
Siria said he doesn't know what inspired the fight.
