Warmer ocean temperatures fuel storms, data shows

Following two historic hurricanes, Helene and Milton, there is research that could shed light on why we’re seeing stronger storms. The Scripps Institution of Oceanography has taken data samples of the temperature and chemistry of the ocean along the California coast, including just offshore of San Francisco. Meteorologist Kari Hall reports.
