Donald Trump is scheduled to make an appearance somewhere in Northern California on Monday and that visit is prompting Democratic and financial leaders to call out the Republican candidate.
Fiona Ma, Chairwoman for the Board of Equalization and CPA, along with Hilary Crosby, fellow CPA and California Democratic Party Controller, are hosting "CPAs for Sunshine" Sunday, a press conference that is geared toward propelling Trump to publicize his financial history and tax returns, according to an event press release.
Having waiting long enough for Trump's tax returns, Ma says that she is asking for some transparency from the presidential hopeful, according to an event press release.
"CPAs are speaking out about sunshine because it makes our democracy stronger," she said in a statement. "It's critical to uncover Trump's potential conflicts of interest and whether he would use the office to make himself richer or to help Americans."
The press conference, which is scheduled to take place in San Francisco at 1001 Van Ness Avenue at 12:30 p.m., will also address Trump's history with stifling small business growth, according to an event press release.
"Trump didn't pay hundreds of small businesses who worked on his golf courses and casinos," Crosby, a small business owner, said in a statement. "It's clear that he only cares about himself and that he gets ahead at the expense of hard-working Americans."
Trump is reportedly scheduled to attend fundraisers somewhere on the peninsula and in wine country on Monday, according to SFGate and the Napa Valley Register, but NBC Bay Area was unable to confirm the specific details of Trump's itinerary as of Sunday afternoon.
