Dreamforce Brings Price Gouging to Motels, Home Rentals

Dreamforce has inspired price gauging at motels and homes. Chuck Coppola reports.

Would you pay almost $1,000 per night for a motel room in San Bruno?

That was one option presented to a Dreamforce attendee today in an Expedia.com search for available rooms.

San Francisco Magazine noted a spike on Airbnb home rental listings, including a $1,200 per night two bedroom apartment in San Francisco that was later discounted to $1,000 per night.

Hotels were already sold out throughout San Francisco by April, when Salesforce chartered a "Dream Boat" as a floating alternative.

The conference, presented by Salesforce, continues through Friday in San Francisco.
