Only in Santa Cruz. Police there arrested a man Monday who was drinking in the Bethany Greenbelt Park.
That may not seem so unusual, but when they arrived, they discovered he was more than just drunk. The man, identified as Marshall Cartwright, was sitting on the ground taking swigs from a full size beer keg. He was offering drinks to anyone who walked by, for a fee of course.
After a search, police say they found magic mushrooms, a Camelback pouch with beer in it, a harmonica and a wetsuit.
Police say Cartwright told them he was on a covert military mission from Australia.
He was arrested and taken to jail.
