A preliminary 2.7 magnitude earthquake struck early Tuesday morning in the East Bay, centered near Alamo, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake struck at 1:08 a.m. and was centered about a half-mile south of Alamo and about 2.3 miles northwest of Danville, the USGS said.
No other information was immediately available. Updates to come.
