M3.2 earthquake shakes East Bay, USGS says

A preliminary 3.2 magnitude earthquake struck Thursday morning near Fremont, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake hit at 9:35 a.m. and was centered about 5 miles southeast of Fremont, the USGS said.

No other information was immediately available.
