4.3 magnitude earthquake shakes off Northern California coast, USGS says

A preliminary 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck Friday morning off the Northern California coast, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake hit at 9:26 a.m. and was centered in the Pacific Ocean about 41 miles west of Eureka, the USGS said.
