A preliminary 2.7 magnitude earthquake struck Monday morning in East Contra Costa County, near Discovery Bay, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake, centered in Byron, about 5.5 miles southwest of Discovery Bay, hit at 9:36 a.m., the USGS said.
No other information was immediately available. Updates to come.
