A preliminary 2.9 magnitude earthquake struck the East Bay Saturday near Walnut Creek and Danville, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake hit at 4:27 p.m. and was centered 3.2 miles north, northeast of Diablo, the USGS said.
No other information was immediately available.
