A brush fire in Antioch was put out quickly late Thursday night after it prompted evacuation orders in a nearby neighborhood, Contra Costa fire officials said.
According to fire officials, the brush fire ignited at about 10 p.m. and was threatening homes, forcing evacuations for residents in the area of Lotus Street.
Evacuation orders were issued at about 10:30 p.m., and Contra Costa County firefighters knocked down the flames shortly after 11 p.m., officials said.
The cause of the fire was unclear and under investigation.
