A fatal crash closed the connector from westbound Interstate 580 to northbound state Highway 13 in Oakland on Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported just after 10 p.m. on westbound 580
near Highway 13. At least one victim died, although information about the extent of injuries to other victims was not immediately available.
A Sig-alert was issued for the connector ramp at 10:22 p.m. There was no estimate for when it would reopen. Drivers were advised to use eastbound state Highway 24 as an alternate route.
