Filmmaker Creates Sierra LaMar Documentary

An independent filmmaker has created a documentary about Sierra LaMar, the 16-year-old Morgan Hill girl who was last seen in March and is now presumed dead.

Brian Garcia, who is from Morgan Hill himself and is now studying cinema at San Francisco State University, created the film because he said that Sierra could be anyone's daughter.

"They could be my family now," he said of Sierra's family. "It could happen to anyone of our sisters, our daughter, our friends.

He is also hoping that the film will help raise funds for Sierra's family, so that they can continue search efforts for her body. Some of the film focuses on the Bay Area volunteer searchers who are still looking for her.

In May, Antolin Garcia-Tores of Morgan Hill was charged with her kidnap and murder, though Sierra's body has yet to be found.
