Fire crews on Wednesday responded to a fire in the foothills east of San Jose that was burning brush and a structure and had spread to 80 acres, according to Cal Fire.
The fire was burning on Sweigert Road in the Spring Valley area, just east of San Jose and Milpitas, fire officials said. One structure was destroyed.
Crews were attacking from the ground and air and had stopped forward progress of the fire. No evacuation orders had been issued, and no injuries were reported, fire officials said.
The blaze was 65% contained as of 8:15 a.m. Thursday.
