Single-Alarm Dock Fire Near Oakland Waterfront Produces Heavy Smoke

The Oakland Fire Department responded to a single-alarm dock fire that sent plumes of smoke skyward Saturday.

The blaze was reported along the Oakland Estuary, and near Union Point Park, at 2201 East 7th Street around 11:45 a.m., fire officials said. A part of the dock was burning, dispatch said.

Three fire engines and a truck were on scene along with the department's Battalion Chief, officials said. The flames were reportedly knocked down within an hour. 

No injuries were reported, dispatch said.
