Who is the mystery benefactor?
Happy Hollow Park & Zoo can't say. But the biggest gift in the park's history is well-received, according to reports.
A donor that will remain anonymous gave the park $1 million, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
The 56-year old zoo -- which underwent a $72 million renovation that wrapped up in 2010 -- says that the low-profile donor's big contribution is exactly what's needed.
The gift could "inspire others" to help build private support for the 16-acre park, which executive director Heather Lerner is trying to do.
In fact, she'd been trying to raise that amount for years.
