Three suspects were taken into custody Sunday after leading law enforcement units on a high-speed chase from the South Bay to San Francisco, according to officials.

The chase began just before 9:40 a.m. when the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle with three occupants on Vallco Parkway in Cupertino, according to the sheriff's department.

Deputies tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver failed to stop, according to the sheriff's department.

The driver then hopped on Interstate 280, continued onto Highway 85, jumped on Highway 101 and drove north before exiting the roadway in San Francisco, according to the sheriff's department. The drive side-swiped some vehicles and crashed into at least one other car while being chased throughout the city.
