San Jose police on Monday searched for two suspects following an overnight homicide in East San Jose to no avail.
Just before midnight on Sunday, police were called to the 2000 block of Lavonne Ave. When they got there, they found a man in his 30s lying on the street suffering from at least one gunshot wound outside of a parked car. He was pronounced deceased dead at the scene.
Lt. Chris Monahan said the circumstances and motive surrounding the shooting are unknown at this time other than that there was some sort of dispute following a party. The suspects have not been identified or apprehended.
For a brief time, the MACSA Center and Mathson Middle School were locked down as police searched door-to-door for suspects and witnesses.
The killing marks the city's 20th homicide of 2015.
