Eight people were killed in a shooting at a Valley Transportation Authority yard north of downtown San Jose Wednesday morning, authorities said. The gunman also died at the scene.
San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo said it was a "horrific day for our city" and "a tragic day for the VTA family."
As investigation continues, political figures outside of the Bay Area such as President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, have extended their condolences and thoughts to those affected by the Wednesday morning shooting.
