Several roads reopen following hazmat spill in Santa Rosa

Roads around North Dutton Avenue in Santa Rosa were reopened on Saturday afternoon following closures because of multiple spills of an unknown liquid from a truck.

The Santa Rosa Police Department said about 275 gallons of the unknown liquid spilled at about 10:45 a.m.

A hazmat team from the Santa Rosa Fire Department responded to what were described by the police department as multiple spills, but the composition of the liquid was unknown, a police spokesperson said.

No evacuations were necessary, police said.

The spill was cleaned up by about 2 p.m., allowing traffic to resume flowing in the area.

The city of Santa Rosa Public Works Department, CalTrans and the California Highway Patrol assisted in the response.
