Six people were seriously injured when an allegedly stolen car collided with another vehicle in San Jose early Saturday morning, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies noticed a silver Infinity that was reported stolen at about 2:20 a.m. near King Road and Marbury Road. The car sped away before a traffic stop could be conducted, and deputies did not pursue the vehicle, the sheriff's office said on X.
The Infinity crashed into a Ford Fusion at McKee Road and North Jackson Avenue.
Four occupants of the Infinity were taken to a hospital, including two with life-threatening injuries.
Two occupants of the Ford were also hospitalized with injuries described as significant but not life-threatening.
The collision is being jointly investigated by the sheriff's office and the San Jose Police Department.
North Jackson Avenue was closed for several hours following the collision and remained closed between Mather Drive and Rinehart Drive as of about noon Saturday.
