Wildlife Officials Urge Owners to Keep Pets Indoors or on Leashes to Protect Them From Mountain Lions

Bring in your pets at night.

A new Department of Fish and Wildlife study, which found that more than 40 mountain lions had eaten a dog, cat or other house pet last year, has prompted officials to issue a call to action to pet owners.

Wildlife officials are urging people to keep their pets indoors at night and on a short leash when out for works.

Department officials are also hosting public meetings in Brisbane – at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 and 10 a.m. March 5 – that focus on safety.
