Parade will close main thoroughfares in San Francisco

 A Veterans Day parade on Market Street in San Francisco on Sunday  will affect several traffic and transit options in the city, according to the  San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.

The parade will take place on Market Street and Second Street at 11 a.m. and will travel west on Market Street before turning west on McAllister Street. The parade will then turn south on Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place and will end at Grove Street.

Second Street, from Brannan to Market streets, will be closed to  traffic at 9 a.m. for parade staging purposes, according to the SFTMA.

Streets will open up as the parade passes, and motorists wishing  to cross Market Street are advised to do so via the Embarcadero or Van Ness  Avenue, according to the transportation agency.
