Kehlani to Perform at San Francisco State University Festival

Following a recent hospitalization after a suicide attempt, R&B singer Kehlani will perform at a San Francisco State University event on Thursday.

The 20-year-old Grammy nominee and Oakland native will headline the main event of the sixth annual Rhythms Music Festival, according to Golden Gate Xpress. Locals K. Flay, Moxie, and the act that wins Wednesday's Battle of the Bands will perform opening sets. The show is open to SFSU students only, with a password required to purchase tickets online and a student ID requirement.

TMZ reported that she was placed under a psychiatric hold at a Los Angeles hospital on March 29 after a suicide attempt. She said in a now-deleted Instagram post that it was in response to cheating rumors that had swirled around her and her ex-boyfriend, Cleveland Cavaliers player Kyrie Irving, rumors which she denied, saying "No one was cheated on and I'm not a bad person."

This week's appearance is a hopeful sign that Kehlani is on the mend. She has also announced a new nationwide tour that will find her singing at the KMEL Summer Jam on June 12 at Oracle Arena in Oakland and at Outside Lands in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park on August 7.
