As California prepares to lift the mask mandate on Feb. 16, Bay Area counties have made individual decisions on whether to ditch the face coverings or not.
On Wednesday, Santa Clara County held a press conference to announce its new guidelines. San Francisco Mayor London Breed took to Twitter to say vaccinated people will be able to be maskless in most indoor settings.

Alameda County

Santa Clara County

Will lift its indoor mask requirements Tuesday, March 2 for unvaccinated people and March 12 for schools and child care facilities.
County officials said they will continue to monitor the situation and share updates through their social media platforms and the Solano County Public Information Network.
"Some people may understandably feel anxious about these changes to masking requirements in Solano," officials said. "Solano Public Health asks residents and visitors to be kind and respectful as people evaluate their risks and make choices to protect themselves and those around them."
Sonoma County
