Crews on Friday blasted a pile of boulders that came down in a rockslide that blocked both directions of Highway 50 near Lake Tahoe for several hours.
One lane of the highway has reopened, Caltrans said just before 2:30 p.m.
The slide occurred at about 5:45 a.m. near Dry Bridge in El Dorado County and slammed into a passing Toyota Forerunner that toppled over, the California Highway Patrol said.
No injuries were reported.
Crews will monitor the area through the weekend, Caltrans said.
