A mountain lion was removed from a tree in San Francisco's Bernal Heights neighborhood Wednesday night.
SF Animal Care officials posted the incident on their Twitter page just after 10:30 p.m. According to officials, a man was parking his car in the area when he spotted the mountain lion in the tree.
Just a day earlier, Surveillance video caught the same animal, which has a collar and is being monitored by the Bay Area Puma Project, strolling along a patch of dirt and grass in the same area.
Officers with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife were able to tranquilize and safely remove the mountain lion from the tree just before midnight.
Officials say the mountain lion will be transported to the Oakland Zoo.
