2 Dead, 3 Injured in Shooting at Child's Birthday Party in Vallejo

Two women died and three other people, including a 10-year-old child, were wounded Tuesday night in a shooting at a toddler's birthday party in Vallejo, according to police.

The shooting occurred sometime before 10 p.m. on Cynthia Avenue, between Wendy and Amelia streets, police said.

Upon arrival, officers found five gunshot wound victims, four adults and one child, ranging in age from 10 to 63, police said. Two women victims, ages 63 and 37, were pronounced dead at a local hospital. The other three victims, a man, a woman and a child, suffered non-life threatening injuries and are expected to recover.

The victims were at a toddler's birthday party when a group of shooters exited a vehicle and opened fire in what was a targeted shooting, police said.

The suspects have not been identified and are at-large, police said.

The homicides were the 10th and 11th in the city this year.
