Police are investigating a deadly shooting at a 7-Eleven gas station in Oakland.
The shooting was reported at 3 p.m. Monday in the area of 5th Avenue and International Boulevard, near Lake Merritt. Officers responding to reports of a shooting found a person who had been shot. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident comes at a time where both store owners and customers are expressing safety concerns about 7-Elevens across the city.
“It’s kinda scary, it scares everybody,” said Parminder Dhingra, who owns multiple 7-Elevens in Oakland and is also the director of the greater Bay Area 7-Eleven Franchise Owners Association.
He shared surveillance video of a recent incident at a 7-Eleven on Grand Avenue that shows suspects robbing a delivery truck driver.
He said his store has been robbed 30 times in the past year.
And the owner of the 7-Eleven in Monday's incident said he’s been robbed four times in the past three months.
“It’s becoming a lot," said Dhingra. "It's very frustrating, it’s happening every day."
As far as safety concerns go, the reactions are mixed from customers outside of the 7-Eleven on Thornhill Drive.

“Every time, I got to be looking around,” said customer Luis.
“You rarely see that kind of stuff happen around here but it's Oakland, that kind of happens in every part of Oakland for the most part,” said customer Asaad Bruno.
Police are still searching for the suspects in Monday’s deadly shooting and are not identifying the victim.
