Person Struck and Killed by Caltrain in S. San Francisco

A person was struck and killed by a Caltrain at the South San Francisco station on Wednesday evening, according to the San Mateo County Transit District.

The fatal strike occurred at about 5 p.m. and involved a southbound train, no. 366, temporarily stopping all trains in the area, Caltrain officials said.

There were 743 passengers onboard the train. No passenger injuries were reported.

It was Caltrain’s eighth fatality of 2018.
