Pittsburg Police Investigating Triple Stabbing at WinCo Food Store

Pittsburg police late Thursday are investigating a triple stabbing at the WinCo Food Store, located at 2400 N. Park Boulevard. Cheryl Hurd reports.

Pittsburg police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a triple stabbing reported late Thursday at the WinCo Food Store that unfolded after the man stole shaving razors, authorities said.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at the store, located at 2400 N. Park Boulevard, at 8:20 p.m. and found three adult employees suffering from stab wounds, according to polcie.

Police said one employee was stabbed in the back and the other two were stabbed in the forearm. The victims were transported to local hospitals and are expected to survive, according to police.

The male suspect entered the store and stole shaving razors from the shelf, police said. When the suspect left the store, he was confronted by five employees.

"A physical altercation ensued and three of the five employees were stabbed by a medium-sized knife," police said in a news release.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived at the store.

Officers, with the help of several K-9 units and a police helicopter, spent late Thursday searching the area for the suspect.
