San Jose police say a 31-year-old, who was the victim of a suspected kidnapping early Saturday morning was found safe.

Acela Pineda Silva was last seen around 2 a.m. Saturday in the area of North Fifth and St John streets. Police said she was in a truck with her male friend when two other men tried to steal it.

“Officers located an adult male victim who reported that his vehicle had been stolen by two adult male suspects. The vehicle was occupied by a female adult passenger. The female was taken into the vehicle against her will,” said Sgt. Jorge Garibay with San Jose police.

At around 3 p.m., SJPD said that a good Samaritan recognized Silva from the alerts and drove her to the police station.

Police said Silva was visibly shaken and suffered minor injuries. They said Silva is from Mexico and only speaks Spanish.

Police later found the truck near Stevens Creek Boulevard and arrested one suspect on suspicion of kidnapping. Officers also found some of Silva's belongings inside the truck.

As of Saturday evening, police were still looking for the second suspect.

Police would not say where the good Samaritan found the victim, but added it does not appear that Silva knew the suspects.

SJPD said at this point, it does not appear a weapon was involved in the kidnapping.

San Jose police urge anyone with information regarding the case to please call them at 408-537-1522.
