A preliminary 2.9 magnitude earthquake struck near Concord early Sunday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake, which hit at 5:50 a.m., was centered about 1.2 miles west of Concord and 1.9 miles north-northeast of Pleasant Hill.
