Amazon.com, the titan of e-commerce, may be eying Newark as the new home for one of its distribution centers.
Nothing has been confirmed -- both city officials and Amazon are dancing around the issue -- but there are clues, according to The Argus newspaper.
An "unnamed Internet company" has indeed inked a deal to lease 574,640 square feet of warehouse space in the city, according to the newspaper.
And Amazon has posted job listings: The company is looking for a "fulfillment associate" to work part time in Newark, the newspaper reported.
A warehouse of that size could mean up to 200 jobs, according to the Argus.
