Flash flood warnings issued in parts of the Bay Area as heavy rain hammers the region

NBC Universal, Inc. Chief Meteorologist Jeff Ranieri has the latest on the storm exiting Saturday and a 2nd chance by Sunday in your 7 day Microclimate Forecast.

The National Weather Service on Friday issued several flash flood warnings in parts of the Bay Area as heavy rain saturated the region.

Below is a breakdown of where the warnings were issued and what time they expire.

  • Alameda County (Hayward, San Leandro and Castro Valley area) – 7:45 p.m.
  • East Bay shoreline (Pinole south through Oakland) – 6 p.m.
  • Northern San Mateo County (Daly City, Broadmoor and Pacifica area) – 5 p.m.
  • San Francisco (entire city) – 3:45 p.m.

The weather service warned people in those areas to move to higher ground immediately and to avoid walking or driving through flood waters.
