San Francisco pre-trial ankle monitoring program on hold

A federal judge has ruled that a crucial aspect of the San Francisco Sheriff’s pre-trial ankle monitoring program violates participants’ rights against warrantless searches. However, Sheriff Paul Miyamoto said that he is unable to safely operate the program without this provision and is appealing the ruling.
