A woman was injured Thursday morning when she crashed her car through a wall at a middle school in San Jose.

The crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. at Muwekma Ohlone Middle School.

"I heard a car speeding down Third Street," Miguel Santiago said. "I thought it was strange for a car to be going that fast. I looked up and I saw a white SUV run the stop sign at Third and Mission and crash through the fence."

After crashing through the fence, the driver continued across the school yard before smashing into the wall.

The wall is next to the school's pool, but no chemicals are kept in that space.

Police said the woman was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators were looking into what caused the woman to crash. Intoxication was not suspected.
