Strike averted.
Maybe.
A tentative deal was reached Wednesday between Santa Clara County and its largest union.
SEIU Local 521, whose members include public safety dispatchers and health care workers, will vote on approving the proposed deal over the next couple of days.
Last week, the union staged a demonstration outside county headquarters on Hedding Street. They said they were protesting their current contract that has made it difficult to recruit and keep employees.
Union workers planned to go on a three-day strike next week.
The terms of the deal have yet to be made public.
