Santa Clara Police Arrest Teen In Wedding Shooting

Dynzel Ghram Brown turned himself into police Oct. 21.

Police have arrested a  19-year-old Sunnyvale man in connection with shooting an unarmed man outside a wedding reception in Santa Clara two weeks ago.

Dynzel Ghram Brown turned himself into police Oct. 21, a week after Santa Clara Police Lt. Matt Hogan said he shot at an acquaintance of his in the parking lot of 3910 Freedom Circle Drive.

They had some sort of fight, Hogan said, and Brown allegedly took a .22-caliber handgun and shot it into the other man's arm, Hogan said.

Brown took off, police said, and friends took the other man to the hospital. He has since been treated for his injury and released.

Hogan announced Brown's arrest on Friday, and said that the Santa Clara County District Attorney has charged Brown with a a deadly weapon assault with the use of a gun. The gun has yet to be found.

Anyone with information regarding this case or Brown should call Santa Clara Police Detective Sergeant Craig Middlekauff at 408-615-4823.

Deputy District Attorney Bret Wasley has been assigned to prosecute the case.  He can be reached at 408-808-3769.
