Mark Peters, who lives in Martinez, has just become the best promoter of the GoPro camera in the company's short history.
He captured a pod of dolphins frolicking in the ocean with the tiny camera known as the "World's Most Versatile."
The video was posted on Vimeo and has more than 100,000 views.
It shows the dolphins chasing a fishing vessel 20 miles off the coast of Santa Cruz.
Peters told the Santa Cruz Sentinel that he used a new flat-lens GoPro built for diving and trawled it about 45 feet behind the boat. He said it was dragging about 4 feet below the water's surface.
Peters thinks the dolphins were chasing the camera as it was towed behind the boat. Their curiosity kept them on the target for more than a minute.
The magic happens about 2:00 in the 4:00 video.
