A security guard is in the hospital after being shot in the arm outside of a Starbucks in Antioch, according to police
The shooting was reported around 2:45 p.m. behind the Starbucks at 1896 A St., near W. 18th Street. When officers arrived, witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspect, who was later detained nearby and was found to be in possession of a firearm.
The shooting apparently followed an argument at a nearby bus stop, police said.
"An armed security guard observed this, drew his own weapon, and began to fire at the suspect," police said in a statement.
The security guard was struck once during the exchange and pulled into a nearby business. The security guard was transported to a hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, police said.
No other injuries were reported. The shooting remains under investigation.
